Continuing with the alphabet. B

So I am continuing with my pointless alphabet blog and today's letter is B...




B-Blood


Ok, so it's the red stuff that successfully sends at least 85% of the worlds population into a squeamish flap, but did you know what those amazing platelets, plasma and cells can do, other than give life and save life? No? Then here are some amazing, bloody facts.  If you're of the squeamish disposition...look away now :p


1. Like humans, dogs have 4 different blood groups. Cats have 11 and cows have a whopping 800 blood groups.
2. In Japan, blood types are assigned personality traits.
3. Different countries have different blood groups that are common.  In American the most common blood group is O+
4. Like your eye colour, your blood type is inherited. In China more than 99% of people are of the Rh+ grouping.
5.  Humans have red blood because it contains iron.  Crabs have blue blood as it contains copper and leeches have green blood because theirs contains chlorocruoin.
6. More than 38,000 blood donations are needed everyday in American and less than 38% of the population are able to donate. 


Although a little gory, the red stuff is amazing.  I strongly urge people to sign up in their area to donate blood.  It's not a bad as you think. 1 in four people will need a blood transfusion at least once in their life.  Put yourself in the position of that person and do something amazing for your fellow man.  I do and the reward of knowing you helped someone is amazing.

I'm starting the alphabet.

I know by the blog title that this doesn't sound like it is going to be very entertaining, but I promise it will be.


What I'm going to do is start with A and finish at Z.  I will pick something with the stated letter and write about it.  I can guarantee that you'll either find it ridiculous, entertaining or ridiculously entertaining. 


A- Armadillos


Yeah, Yeah...I know what you're thinking. Armadillos, when have they ever been entertaining?


Well, you're about to find out.  The armadillo is an amazing creature and has many amazing attributes.  Like for example, they're crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.  I joke, but here are a few facts to amaze your friends when the conversation has dried up.


1. Armadillos can walk under water.

2. Armadillos can be housebroken

3. If disconnected, the sex organs of an armadillo remain active.

4. The name "armadillo" comes from Spanish explorers and means "little armoured thing".

Introduction to me.

Hi everyone,


I'm new here and this is just an informal introduction to you all about me.  It's nothing too heavy, just a little intro to say hi.


First off to anyone reading this...a MASSIVE thank you and I hope you enjoy my ramblings.


I'll mainly be posting brain farts, opinions and other numerous things you may or may not find entertaining.  I'm not going to reveal too much about myself in this, but over time you'll get to learn about what type of person I am and what my main likes and dislikes are...
